Criminal Defense Trial Attorney

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Criminal Defense Trial Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law and trial advocacy, with a commitment to defending the rights of individuals accused of crimes.

We defend people accused of serious crimes including, Sexual Crimes, Federal Cases, Murder and Attempted Murder, Domestic Violence, Drug Crimes, Assault and Battery, Gun Charges, Expungement and Tier Relief, Sentence Modification, Felony Reduction, DUI, Felony DUI and Driving Crimes and various criminal offenses. 

  • Potential candidates must be able to communicate effectively with clients who experience traumatic, life-altering events.  This requires practicing patience, demonstrating empathy, and understanding. A good attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with clients are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all phases of criminal proceedings, including arraignments, pretrial hearings, trial and sentencing.
  • Prepare clients for court appearances and advise them on legal options.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings and briefs.
  • Develop and execute defense strategies tailored to each case.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather relevant information.
  • Negotiate plea deals and settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Examine and cross-examine witnesses during trials.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, including paralegals and investigators.
  • Stay updated on laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Passed the CA State Bar examination and licensed to practice law in CA.
  • Strong understanding of courtroom procedures and legal protocols.
  • Minimum 3 years of criminal defense experience is preferred, including first chair trial experience.
  • Demonstrated success in handling multiple trials to verdict is a key qualifier.
  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage an independent case load.
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
